Made it!

Arrived safely in GZ! It feels like home (almost) to see all the families from our group and all their precious children....don't worry, pics to come! Ashley really opened up here tonight, laughing and smiling for everyone...she didn't do that at all in Hunan. She would do it for us in the room, but was very unsettled in public. Here...totally different! We had dinner with friends and can't wait to do some shopping. We've been holding back but are ready to find some treasures for our girls! Pics tomorrow!

So glad you are on the last leg of the journey and that you have settled in. I am sure that Ashley will love being with all the other precious little children.

Enjoy shopping!! See if you can meet Jordan from "Jordan's" on Shamien Island........ he is such a sweet man. His shop is awesome!Sarah Strand introduced us to him when we were there. The "chops" are a great gift to take back...ask him about them. I am sure you already know, but don't forget to visit A Gift From China also on the Island. There are many Christian scrolls and plaques to takes back and some adorable clothes and gifts. We LOVED that shop. You might remember that Sarah bought many things from there and autioned them on her blog!

looking forward to pictures!!

Yea! I know how it feels to get back with "family"! Enjoy your time on GZ!!

Also...Jordan will do a calligraphy of Ashley's name and the meaning of it. You might also want him to do your other children's names too. Just thought I'd mention it to you so that you would give him plenty of time to do it! He does it for free...but we also bought some things from his shop. :o)

Hugs,
Jenn

Emily and Jay,
Hi, my name is Denise and I was given your blogspot info from a mutual friend Susan Sims. I am so excited to tell you that we adopted our little girl, Lana, from Changsha also back in March 2007. We live only 40 minutes from you in Cordele - small world! I have loved reading your blog(hope you didn't mind Susan giving it to me). I cried when I saw the gotcha day pictures. We were in that same room, with those same benches holding our baby for the first time two years ago! I love reading about you calling her a "spicey girl", the same holds true for our little girl, no doubt! We loved GZ, so pretty on the river, great shopping, great food. One favorite picture was taken by the river at night with the red laterns lit hanging in the trees. Lucy's has good american food. Favorite finds: silk paper kite, silk photo album, and of course squeaky shoes!! We also went to an electronics market or place where you can find deals. I bought an ipod for $25 and some video games for cheap.
Your baby is just beautiful and you all look very happy to have this new addition to your family. I will pray for you and your safe return home. My email address is lanataylorellis@yahoo.com
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Denise
