The Lord Provides.....

There have been many, many moments on this journey so far, that have confirmed to us that this adoption is God's plan for our family. On Tuesday, we received a letter that we had been given a grant from Shaohannah's Hope!! We received 3,000.00 toward our adoption of Ashley! We are SO SO excited and blessed to get this grant, and at the same time, we are still grieving with the Chapman's and their loss of little Maria. Steven goes back out on the road on July 11th for the first time since Maria's death, so please remember them on this day and the ones leading up to it. I can imagine that this will be a very very emotional tour to finish out for him and his family.

Celebration!

Tonight we celebrated Father's Day AND being DTC with a super treat...a trip to a Japanese Steakhouse! (I know, not Chinese, but the Chinese options in our town aren't exactly a "treat") The girls loved the food cooking show and ate everything off their plates. We talk everyday about getting Ashley, and what our future holds...we can't wait to be in China with our daughter!

It's leaving on a Jet plane.....

We got this email earlier today:

Group 361,

Your Dossier will be sent to China via FedEx later today! If you would like to track your dossier’s trip to China, the package’s tracking number is 7905 2599 2445. Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work!

And with that email, our paper chase is officially over! It's a very strange feeling not to have anything more to do for awhile. I get a knot in my stomach when I think about all that information leaving and on an airplane. Our agency says it should arrive in Beijing on Tuesday, then an AWAA employee walks it straight into the CCAA building. WOW. In some respects, it seems like this can't really be true! Thank you so much, those of you who have prayed, given and listened to the drama of getting all this stuff together. We cannot wait to see what the future holds, and we are SO humbled and honored that the Lord has ordained this in our lives.
Please continue to pray we'll see Ashley's face this year. Also, please pray for our grant application to Shohannah's Hope...we should hear something in the next two weeks.

Now.....WE'RE GOING OUT TO CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They came today!!!

Our docs from Houston came today!! I'm going to send them to AWAA tomorrow and they should go out next Friday to CHINA!! I may have a breakdown when I hand them to the man at FedEx, there is a lot of work, prayers, money and emotions in that package!! I'll take a pic when it's ready to send!!! Yeah!!!!

Last night Jay and I had a sweet prayer time for our girl. She is already so much a part of us! We are begging the Lord to let us get her by Christmas. We are praying EXPECTANTLY! Thanks so much for paying over this and walking this journey with us!!

they were a no show....

The three docs from Houston didn't arrive yet, so looks like we won't be sending our dossier till next week :(

That's alright, it's coming soon and we're sure it'll be at AWAA by next Wednesday so there is a peace in that. Come on Houston!!

Here's something really neat....

When I was pregnant with AD, the Lord began to really speak to me about China (this had been going on for years, but it was becoming apparent that it would be sooner than we thought...anyway, some people we "kinda" knew, the Footes, were going to China to get their daughter, Libby. Billy and Cindy are good friends with some good friends of ours, and Jay had hired them to lead worship on a youth retreat he had when he was a YM in MS. They were the first family that I actually "followed" via their blog and I actually got up at 5am on their "Gotcha Day" because I knew they would've posted pics of precious Libby. I cried as I read and saw all that happened to them that day, and the Lord spoke loud and clear to me that morning that our family would experience the same thing sometime in the future.

Fast forward, and the Footes are now about to turn in their dossier to AWAA to adopt another baby girl, this time from Ethiopia. And guess what? They are turning in their Ethiopian dossier NEXT WEEK! The same week we're turning ours in for China! Although they probably have no clue who we are, this is very confirming to me. The Lord's timing is amazing, and I cannot wait to meet miss Libby one day, and introduce her to our Ashley!! Cool, huh??!!
