Introducing Ms. Ashley Mei !!!!!

WE GOT PRE-APPROVAL!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!
We can finally post the precious face we have been looking at now for two weeks!! Is she cute or WHAT?!!! Due to CCAA regs, we can't share details about her until they officially approve us, but her paperwork ends with, "--is a healthy, happy and bright baby!"
Mama and Daddy are coming baby girl....hang in there!!!
In the next step, the CCAA moves our dossier out for review. They will issue us a Letter of Acceptance in the next 2-4 months, approximately. We are praying for travel in late October/early November. Join us in that prayer!!!
We are overwhelmed with excitement and humbled by God's goodness to our family and our baby girl!!!

Prayers for Ashely

This was an email sent to me this morning...like I said in the below post, THIS is the Body of Christ acting like the Body!! Thanks so much, Kate for your prayers!!!

God, thank you for the sweet blessing for Emily and her family. Please bless them in every step of their adoption process. God, give them patience and grace as they wait to travel to China. Please also bless every step of their trip. I pray for Ashley that she would have peace that comes from you when she is placed in Emily's arms. God, even now, be preparing Ashley for this very big transition- which you have been preparing from the beginning. Please provide all of the money that Emily and Jay need to pay for the rest of the adoption, travel, and post adoption costs. God I ask for special grace for her kids. May they not feel less loved or less important, but quickly form a bond with Ashley- like she has always been a part of their life. I pray you would give Emily all of the patience and energy she needs to give a lot of attention to two little girls very close in age. And give she and Jay grace as they will have a little less time for each other. Please provide friends and family who could be an enourmous help during this time of enormous blessing. Keep them safe and healthy when they travel. I pray all the paper work, meetings while in China, etc. will go perfectly. Please give them good weather and help Ashley on the flight back- please help her to sleep and be happy. I pray she would quickly have a smile on her face due to the love she is receiving from her parents. Thank you for providing this wonderful family for Ashley. May they be lifelong blessings to one another. Please bless her as she grows and give her a special understanding of you and your son's sacrifice for her. God thank you again that you care about each one of us so much that you would bring a family together from around the world. You are so good.

More information on Ms. Ashley!!

I promised an update on her so here goes.

We have pretty detailed information on her month by month starting from when she was about a month old. It details her development such as: playing with toys at 4 months, eating biscuits on her own at 7 months, crawling at 10 months. It says a few times, that she is a "bright" baby and a happy baby!! She can wave bye bye and clap her hands. She isn't fond of strangers....(uh, oh...I have a feeling it may be a rough "gotcha day!")

However, God has had His hand on this child!! This is amazing.....

I joined the Yahoo group for her orphanage. Even though she's been in foster care since birth, she's still apart of the orphanage system. Once I was approved and could read through files and see the many many other families that have adopted from this city, I came across some information. Love Without Boundaries runs the foster care program from this orphanage!!! Do you know how HUGE this is? That means that these Americans who are the strongest advocates for China's orphans, have been there training and working with her and her foster parents! You can go to the LWB website and check out the Foster Care link and read all about it. What's more, the way the program works, people here in the states can sponsor a child in FC, for 35.00 a month....in return you get pictures of your sponsored child, and updates. According to the LWB website, there are only TEN foster children in the program from her orphanage. And someone, some, amazing someone, has been sponsoring her the entire time! I was able to email the FC director and tell her that we were adopting this baby and she was THRILLED! She cannot send me any updated pics or information, but she said that as soon as we're home with her, she'll mail me all the pictures and information that they have on her!!!! These documents and pictures are priceless, and a rare treat in the world of International Adoption. So many of these children come with a referral picture, a name, and the clothing on their backs.

I am so in awe of the way the Lord is writing Ashley's story. She's already made a difference in lives, and we don't even have her home yet. So many of you have emailed me privately, or called and asked questions about adoption, and I know that God is working in hearts and lives because of this story. As I sat in church on Sunday, after finally being able to announce our news, my constant prayer was, "to You, Lord, be the Glory...not us, but You..." We never want this to be about what a great "thing" we are doing, or how "lucky" this little girl is....may it always be for the Glory of God!!! That is our earnest prayer!

Speaking of prayer.....here's how you can specifically pray for Ashley and us for the moment.....

1. We're still waiting for Pre Approval. Pray it comes this week.
2. For Ashley, that she is happy and HEALTHY. That the Lord would be preparing her heart for
us as only He can.
3. For our Letter of Approval. (next step after pre-approval). This could take anywhere from
60-120 days. Pray it comes by the end of September.
4. For our finances. That the Lord would provide the funds we need to travel and finish the
adoption.
5. For our girls here. Specifically Annalyse. She not getting a newborn sister, she's getting a
sister that's just 8 months younger. ....who will play with her toys, and need her mama. She
is the one my heart is heavy for today.

Thank you so much for getting this far! Our journey would not be the same without the Body of Christ. Thank you for acting like the Body, by your prayers, words, encouraging notes, and gifts. It is making a difference more than you can imagine. God is taking notice.

I CANNOT wait to show you her face!!! She is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen!! She has the most squeezable cheeks!

WE HAVE A DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with OVERWHELMING excitement that we announce that there is a new baby in our house!!

Her name is Ashley Mei and she was born 7/1/07!! She just had her first birthday! (And, for those of you wondering, she's 8 months younger than Annalyse, Lord help us!)

We received her referral last Friday, July 11th at 9:48am in Destin, FL on vacation!! After a long, emotional, day, we faxed the paperwork to AWAA, confirming that she WAS THE ONE!!

I want to tell the story more in depth, but after 9 days, 7 states, 1,968 miles, and tons of fun...my bed is all I want. Vacation was awesome....driving almost all those miles with Ashley's picture on the dashboard was AMAZING!

She is waiting for us in Hunan, China and we hope to travel in November to get her and bring her HOME!

I can't post pictures just yet, per agency rules. Once we get Pre-approval (in about a week) I'll post them all for you to see!

God is GOOD. SO GOOD.

Goodnight, ya'll!!!!!!! I am the mama to FOUR girls!!!!

Romans 4:19-21

19"Without becoming weak in faith, he (Abraham) contemplated his own body, now as good as dead because he was 100 years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb;
20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not wavier in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured, that what God had promised, He was also able to perform."

The Lord has used this scripture this week to remind me to have faith, even when things seem impossible. How is it possible that one day, we'll be in China, picking up our daughter? Sometimes, it seems as impossible as a 100 year old man and woman having a child.

Whatever seems impossible in your life right now, rest assured that "what God has promised, He is also able to perform."

Praise be to HIM!!!!
